When single mother Wok was asked by her Jewish employer to give up her son Shariff to be adopted and taken away to Down Under during the 1960s she firmly refused the offer that could have provided her with a lifetime riches. And Shariff grew up without a father throughout this entire life journey. The father figures in his life were of different ethnicity comprising Jews, Chinese, Malays and Gragos, all of whom were generous to extend their care and love to Shariff. A good orator during his college years and an outstanding journalist during his hey days with the Press, Shariff fortered close ties with corporate figures and national leaders. He would have used the advantage of being able to rub shoulders with the important people but instead he is making use of the rapport for something beyond imagination. As he narrates his life journey up to this juncture, he exposes instances that created history.
